What is Swordcraft Gippsland?

Swordcraft Gippsland is a Live-Action Roleplay (LARP) group. Our regular games are more battle game focus, but we also have other more roleplay focused events. We also do community events to promote not only our game, but also LARPing in general.

We use the Swordcraft ruleset, and are a chapter of the main Swordcraft group found in Melbourne.  Swordcraft is a LARP set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe by Games Workshop. It includes a variety of races (Humans, Orcs, Elves, etc.) and a range of medieval and fantasy weaponry, including mock flintlock style firearms and some magic. Swordcraft is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get style system, where players must be able to act out what they are trying to achieve and success or failure is dependent on their skill, rather then a character sheet.

When and where?

Swordcraft Gippsland plays every second Saturday, at Agnes Brereton Reserve in Traralgon, Victoria. Exact dates and times can be found on our facebook group or in the Home section of this webpage.

What do I need to join?

To join in at our games, you only need to be over the age of 15 years old and to show up! New players get to play at their first game for free, are given a sword to use and training in the rules. It's advised to wear plain clothing, free of labels and a good pair of footwear. After your first game, the next three games are half priced (at $5), with regular games after that at $10. This includes weapon hire until you wish to purchase your own. If you bring a new player along, you get to play for half price!
